Yvanna Reyes serves as Director of Bands at Dessau Middle School and assists with marching band and flute lessons at Connally High School.  Ms. Reyes comes to the Pflugerville ISD after having served five years as Associate Band Director at Harlingen High School, in Harlingen, Texas.

Ms. Reyes recently earned her fourth consecutive UIL Concert and Sightreading Sweepstakes Award with the Harlingen High School Concert Band.  In addition, she led an active private lesson studio and managed the entire woodwind program at Harlingen. Ms. Reyes has also had successful experiences teaching marching band including placement at the UIL Texas State Marching Band Championships and Bands of America Regionals.  As a private lesson teacher, Ms. Reyes has had students place as high as first chair in All State, Area, and Region ensembles since 2012.

An active member of the Texas Music Educators Association, Ms. Reyes has served as Secretary for the Region 28 Band Division, assisted with TMEA All State Band Auditions, Honor Band Hearings, and has been an organizer for several region bands.
Ms. Reyes has also been recognized by the Harlingen CISD Superintendent and Board of Trustees for fours years of consecutive UIL Sweepstakes.

Ms. Reyes grew up in the city of Brownsville, Texas and is a 2012 graduate of the VanderCook College of Music in Chicago, Illinois.  She is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association and Texas Bandmasters Association.






Miss Lopez is currently starting her 18th year of teaching and her 7th year as Director of Bands for Westview Middle School, where she is the director of the Wind Ensemble and teaches woodwind instruments.   Previously, she taught in Laredo, TX for eleven years.  From 2003 to 2006 she taught elementary music and from 2007 to 2014 she taught middle school band.  During her time as an elementary music teacher, Miss Lopez completed her Level I & II Orff-Schulwerk courses with Central Texas Orff at Trinity University in San Antonio.  After becoming a band director, Miss Lopez led her CCC Non-Varsity Bands to receive eight consecutive U.I.L. Sweepstakes Awards.   Under her baton, the WMS Wind Ensemble also earned 3 consecutive sweepstakes.   
Prior to becoming an educator, Miss Lopez earned a Bachelors of Music in Music Education from Texas State University in San Marcos.  During this time, she was active in the Bobcat Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Tau Beta Sigma Sorority for Bands and Golden Key International Honor Society.   In 2010, Miss Lopez also earned a Masters in Music Education from Texas A & M University in Kingsville, TX.  She studied clarinet with Dr. David Pino and Dr. Nancy King-Sanders, respectively.    
Miss Lopez is affiliated with TMEA, TSTA and TBA.



Mr. Martinez is currently beginning his 12th year of teaching and his 4th year as Assistant Band Director for Westview Middle School, where he is the director of the Symphonic Band and teaches brass instruments.
Previously, he taught middle school band in Corpus Christi, TX for 5 years and high school band in Mission, TX for 3 years.  

Prior to becoming an educator, Mr. Martinez earned a Bachelors of Music in Music Education from Texas A&M University- Kingsville in Kingsville, TX.  During this time, Mr. Martinez was active in the Javelina Marching Band, Wind Symphony, Kingsville Symphony Orchestra, TAMUK Horn Society and Kappa Kappa Psi Fraternity for Bands.

Mr. Martinez is affiliated with TMEA, TBA,  and was a performing member of the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps from Canton, Ohio in 2006 and 2007.
